Rewordy improves your English on-device. Selected text, generated rewrites, writing preferences, and writing history are not sent to Rewordy, an AI provider, or the license service.
When you trigger a rewrite, the selected text is processed by Apple’s on-device system model and replaced locally. Rewordy does not transmit it. In apps that require the compatibility fallback, macOS briefly places text on the system pasteboard; Rewordy marks its replacement as current-device-only and restores the previous clipboard.
License, activation, installation, app-version, plan, and aggregate usage-count metadata is sent to Rewordy and Lemon Squeezy as needed to validate access and enforce plan limits. Rewordy hashes network-address data for entitlement abuse prevention and does not store raw license keys in Redis. Signed entitlements and local usage state are protected in macOS Keychain.
Diagnostics stay local and record only timing, text length, app identifier, workflow stage, and error category. They never include selected or rewritten text.
If you opt in on this website, Rewordy uses Microsoft Clarity and a privacy-limited PostHog configuration to understand page visits and interactions. Analytics is off until you choose “Allow analytics,” and it never receives text rewritten in the Mac app.

No. Rewordy does not use a hosted AI provider. Rewrites run through the Apple Intelligence model available locally on your Mac.
Not to generate a rewrite. A connection is required for initial trial or license setup and periodic entitlement and aggregate usage validation. Those requests contain no writing content.
With consent, website analytics may include pages visited, clicks, approximate location derived from IP address, browser/device details, and masked session interactions. Microsoft and PostHog process that website data for Rewordy. Declining analytics does not affect downloads, purchases, or app functionality.
Trial and lease records are retained only as needed to prevent replay, restore active device balances, enforce monthly or lifetime plan limits, handle billing disputes, and meet legal obligations. Contact support@rewordy.app for a deletion request; some quota and transaction records may need to be retained.
